We are planning on another Bears on Skis Weekend, based on the feedback from alums at the CAA conference in Berkeley last August.  To keep the travel logistics to a minimum for out-of-state Bears and maximize available activities for non-skiers, we are looking at Breckenridge Resort in Summit County for the event. Note that folks have skied one day in Breckenridge and then the next day, hit the slopes at a nearby resort such as up the road in Vail; so, there are still options for the more adventurous. The goal with Bears on Skis for the future, is to continue to host the event with Golden Bears who love to play in the winter and then plan to start rotating it to different mountain resorts each year. The idea is to have one central place close to Main St and large enough to accommodate a gathering of hungry Bears. In the past, we cooked dinner together in one condo, then walked out for some nightlife on Main Street. Once that central place is filled, we can have folks stay nearby in the same condo area; I can put you in contact with the property manager who has been helping me with this event- he can help in the search for lodging that fits your needs, particularly if you'd rather have a smaller place just for you and your family. 

Costs estimated below are per room for the ENTIRE  3 or 4-night stay; for example, if there are 2 roommates in a room with twin beds, split the cost in half.  Please look at the attached PowerPoint slide to view their locations.  Note, the links below are just examples of the units in each group:

One Breckenridge Place (4 nights minimum) (~$795/room if all occupied & sofa sleeper considered a room; otherwise, condo residents can modify room rates)

Cimarron (3 nights) (~$420/room if all occupied & sofa sleeper considered a room; otherwise, condo residents can modify room rates)

Sawmill Creek (3 nights) (~$445/room if all occupied & sofa sleeper considered a room; otherwise, condo residents can modify room rates)

Corral (3 nights) (~$495/room if all occupied & sofa sleeper considered a room; otherwise, condo residents can modify room rates)

Mountainwood (3 nights) (~$425/room if all occupied & sofa sleeper considered a room; otherwise, condo residents can modify room rates)

River Mountain Lodge (3 nights) (stayed here before, decent but place is a little older, fairly booked up, usually requires 4 night stay but some property owners have 3 night stays available;  # of rooms/condo vary, so best to search on your own)
