You are cordially invited to join us for the first of a series of panel discussions exploring the current state of climate change, its impact on our future and what we can do about it. In the first of these panels, DC area alumni working the areas of climate policy, renewable energy, engineering for sustainability, and adaptation will share their current jobs and responsibilities, provide insights into careers in these areas, and address questions on working in climate-related areas as well as engaging in initiatives addressing one of the world's most pressing environmental problems.

About the Panelists:
Alan Yu, MPP ‘88 (Moderator)
Senior Fellow and Director of International Climate Policy, Center for American Progress
Alan, a former official at the Department of Energy and foreign service officer with the Department of State, conducts policy analysis and advocacy regarding international climate change and clean energy policies at the Center for American Progress.
Jessica Grannis, Hastings JD ‘05
Adaptation Program Manager, Georgetown Climate Change Center
Jessica is an experienced program manager with a history of working with state and local governments on the legal and policy aspects of preparing for the impacts of climate change.
Sebastian Guerrero, PhD ‘13
Consultant, WSP
Sebastian focuses on transportation economics, planning, and policy. He has helped federal, state, and local agencies around the U.S. evaluate transportation investments, quantifying their economic, environmental, and societal benefits.
Karl Hausker, PhD, MPP
Karl is a Senior Fellow in WRI’s Climate Program. He leads analysis and modeling of climate mitigation, electricity market design, and the social cost of carbon. Much of his work has focused on the electricity and transportation sectors, and on low carbon, climate resilient development strategies.
