To reserve your wine tasting spot at the bars, please RSVP below and contact Kathy Molina, event coordinator. If you are able to provide a ride and are willing to take fellow alumni, please also let Kathy know; unfortunately the club isn't directly able to arrange transportation (but some day hope to!).
STOP 1 - Fun With Fido, Family & Friends - The Bow Wow Alumni Experience - 12:30pm
12:30 PM - Barrel Oaks Winery - 3623 Grove Lane, Delaplane, VA 20144.
Enjoy an afternoon of picnicking with your pooch & general merriment while sipping wine & listening to live music at Barrel Oaks Winery. Barrel Oaks is a working winery that seriously caters to dogs, their owners and family members of all ages.
We have set up a 1 hour “Bow” (as in Bow Wow) wine tasting for Cal Alumni beginning at 1:00 pm promptly along the bar.
Don’t want to taste wine? Hanging out with your pooch, or kids, or friends or family for the afternoon is fine as well. Barrel Oaks encourages picnicking, Frisbee, games, kids, dogs & laughter. They have lovely outdoor tables if you're not interested in picnicking on the grass, a live band and wine & food for sale. Stay as long or short as you wish.
The cost for the formal 1 hour Bow tasting is $11/per person. You will need to give this to our point person, Kathy Molina, at the bar at the start of the tasting session.
Space at the official tasting is limited. You may show up last minute but room along the bar during the official tasting session may not be available.
STOP 2 - The Drink Naked Experience - 2:15pm
Naked Mountain Winery 2747 Leeds Manor Road State Rt. 688 / North of I-66 / Exit 18 Markham, Virginia 22643
If you're not encumbered by Fido and wish to sample superior wines, around 2:15pm wander over to Naked Mountain Winery & Vineyards with other alumni for superior wines and a majestic view.
This wine tasting will be informal. Hop on a Cal van or drive yourselves to rendezvous at everyone's favorite winery. It's just a 10 minute drive from Barrel Oaks. If you are having too good of a time at Barrel Oaks with Fido, we encourage you to hang out as long as you wish. No need to move on.
STOP 3 - The 7 Mountain Range Sunset View Experience - 3:30pm
Fox Meadow Winery 3310 Freezeland Road, Linden, VA 22642
After sampling some Naked wine, mosey on over to Fox Meadow Winery, just 10 minutes from Naked Mountain, around 3:30. This wine tasting will also be informal. Fox Meadow has some wonderful award winning wines & a very lovely sunset with a seven mountain range view from their deck. Not a bad way to end the day.
