Meet Holocaust survivor and Cal grad Mina Parsont and hear her tell her story of her courageous escape, with her sister Nelee, from Nazi occupied Paris to eventual freedom during World War II. Watch the 70 minute film “Les Tombées Du Ciel” in French, with English subtitles, as it chronicles the sisters’ escape from Paris in 1940, the brave Catholic family that sheltered them and the moving reunion with their rescuers at the Righteous Among Nations ceremony in Paris. After the film, Mina will entertain questions. Co-hosted by UCDC and the DC Cal Alumni Club.
The event is free to UCDC students and UC alumni and friends but will be capped at the first 90 to RSVP. It will be held in UCDC’s auditorium. For more information about the event, please contact Kathy Molina at [email protected]
For more information about Mina’s story, please see the touching article in the Germantown Gazette at http://ww2.gazette.net/gazette_archive/2002/200210/germantown/news/94436-1.html
