The Annual Reception is the premier annual event of the Cal Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. This important event helps raise much-needed funding to support our expansive club operations and to support student scholarships at UC Berkeley. Through our previous nine receptions, D.C. Cal community has raised over $40,000 for CAA Leadership Awards and Cal in the Capital. 

Come enjoy heavy appetizers, an open bar, and the ambiance of a historic private club, centrally located in Washington, D.C

About Congresswoman Matsui
Congresswoman Doris Matsui has represented the city of Sacramento and its surrounding areas since 2005.  As a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, she serves on the Health, Environment and Climate Change, and Consumer Protection and Commerce subcommittees and is the Vice-Chair on the Communications and Technology subcommittee.

Because she has always felt the arts connect innovation with creativity and passion, Congresswoman Matsui has been a strong supporter of the arts not only in the Sacramento community but nationwide. She currently serves as a Member of the Board of Regents for the Smithsonian. She is also on the Council of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the Council of the National Museum of American History. She has previously served on the National Symphony Board and the Arena Stage Board. Congresswoman Matsui has been an ardent supporter of the DC Cal Alumni Club since joining Congress.
