Thirteenth DC Cal Annual Picnic - July 13 2024

Golden Bears - Break out your blue & gold for the Annual Summer Picnic! We'll have a blast while enjoying barbecue, beer, friendship, games and more. Please join us at Cabin John Regional Park Group Area from 1 - 4 PM Saturday July 13. The club will provide food, wine, water, soft drinks & beer. Vegetarian options will be provided. With picnic shelters on site, this picnic will go RAIN or SHINE! This is a family friendly event! Come ready to socialize, sing Cal songs and make new friends. $15 for paid 2024 club members registering in advance, $20 in advance for others, $25 for walkups. Children remain a deal at $5/child. Current Cal students and the class of 2028 and their family members are free!

TRANSPORTATION

CAR: Google Maps location of CABIN JOHN REGIONAL GROUP AREA

Note: The Picnic is in the group picnic area, not the main park area. Parking is available at the group picnic area. Take Old Georgetown Road North off 495, turn left on Tuckerman Lane, go through Westlake Drive, the group picnic area is the fenced area on the right. Look for the. blue and gold balloons.

METRO: Red Line, Grosvenor Metro Station. If you plan to take the metro, we will coordinate to have a driver pick you up at Grosvenor. For more information please email Betsy at [email protected].

TICKET INFORMATION

We encourage you to reserve your spot at the picnic in advance so we know how much food and drink to provide! 

Ticket prices are as follows:

2024 Club Member: $15/person: 

Would you like to be a Club member this year? Membership gives you discounted prices to our ticketed events. If interested, please go to https://dccalalumni.nationbuilder.com/membership

Adults who are not 2024 Club members: $20/person

Child 12 & Under: $5/person

Sponsor a student: Suggested Donation = $15

Current 2024 members who purchased a Member+1 membership may get two tickets at the member rate of $30 ($15/person)

Current CITC students and incoming frosh and their families: free!

Please Buy Your Tickets Early! All walk-up tickets will be $25 per person.

 

HOW TO GET YOUR TICKETS:

–ALUMNI: Purchase your tickets by scrolling all the way down right now or if you prefer, you may send a check to: DC Cal Alumni Club, PO BOX 7509, Arlington, VA 22207. Be sure your first and last name is on the check and please mail it early.

–CURRENT CAL STUDENTS & INCOMING FROSH & FAMILY MEMBERS: Please click on here: FREE STUDENT TICKET

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We are looking for volunteers to
1. Shop for supplies (generally from Costco or the Dollar Store)
2. Come about an hour early to set up decorations (mainly balloons & table cloths)
3. Shuttle people back and forth by car from the Grosvenor Metro. If you can help out with our Bear Shuttle, please email Betsy Keenan HERE.
4. Barbecue the food!
5. Help shuttle supplies to the venue from our storage locker in Arlington.
