Jim Knowlton is Cal’s 24th Director of Athletics. He will oversee an athletics program that sponsors 30 sports and supports more than 850 student-athletes. A past recipient of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), Athletic Director of the Year award, Knowlton has a well-deserved reputation as an accomplished administrator and dynamic leader.
