Come and talk with the students about their internships and share information with them about your job/career. They always have questions about the work experiences and careers of alumni, as well as how they got into their career paths.  And the students’ enthusiasm for their internships and being in DC is contagious. The more alumni who attend, the more the students will learn from us. Last year many alumni attended and the students were thrilled! 

We are happy to announce that Nina Parker, the Program Manager of Cal in the Capital and Student Initiated Community Projects, at the UC Berkeley Public Service Center, will join us and give remarks on the programs at the Public Service Center. Cal in the Capital is one of the largest programs in the Public Service Center. 

Please RSVP for this FREE event so that we know how much food we’ll need and if you have any food restrictions. In addition, we will need some help with set-up, sign-in, and clean-up.  If you can help out, please include that on the form.

38 CITC Students Still Need an Internship!

THANK YOU to all of you who have hired or helped CITC students find an internship this summer!!  The students have been applying for internships since they were selected to participate last December, but the job market is rough. Please check out the CITC 2026 Bios list to learn about the students still looking for an internship, to see if you or your organization can host an intern this summer.  Please share the list with others in your networks as well.

Volunteer to Mentor a Cal in the Capital Student

Each year, around 40 of our Cal alumni in the DC area participate in the  Mentorship Program for students who request a mentor. Thank you to all of you who have participated in this popular program! The Mentorship Program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to meet a professional in DC on a less formal basis (i.e., someone who is not their internship supervisor).  Mentors and mentees are expected to meet at least once over the summer, from around early-June to mid-July.  

Please fill out this survey if you would like to participate as a mentor and submit it by Sunday, May 3rd. If you submitted a mentorship form last year and would like us to use that information this year, please let Betsy Keenan know at [email protected], with CITC Mentor in the subject line.
