Our trip departs at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday October 14 from the dock in Old Town Alexandria. There is no need to book in advance. Whoever shows up can buy their own tickets and get on board. You can buy a one way ticket to Georgetown or a round trip ticket to return to Alexandria. Round trip tickets are $30 and one way are $16. We should get there by 11 am to buy our tickets and get in line.
Because parking is scarce and expensive in the area you may want to consider taking Metro to the King Street Stop then transferring to the free shuttle down King St. to the waterfront. If you do want to drive, underground municipal parking is available at the Market Square Parking Garage, the entrance is located at 108 N. Fairfax Street, very near the corner of King. The cost is one hour $2.50, $5.00 maximum. Be aware that a popular farmer’s market will be in progress in Market Square and that many shoppers use the same garage. The idea is that we can meet up there and be together as a group on the boat.
When we arrive in Georgetown, we can have lunch together as a group, if you like, before we go our separate ways.
Although we don’t have to reserve tickets in advance, if you would like to go on this cruise, please let me know so that I can arrange a restaurant and know how many people to wait for.
